Join us for our Coaches vs. Cancer Suits & Sneakers Gala, presented by Hy-Vee at The Ron Pearson Center! This year’s event will bring together our state’s four Division I men’s basketball coaches, Kyle Green – University of Northern Iowa, Ben McCollum – University of Iowa, Eric Henderson – Drake University and T.J. Otzelberger – Iowa State University as they join one team in the fight against cancer with business and community leaders, cancer survivors, caregivers and those passionate about fighting cancer.
Many of the two million people expected to be diagnosed with cancer this year will have barriers to accessing transportation to treatment, a place to stay when care is far from home, and someone to answer questions and provide emotional support – barriers that could negatively impact their ability to get well.
The American Cancer Society (ACS) works to provide trusted cancer information, emotional support, and direct patient services such as transportation and lodging, to ensure people have what they need and can access cancer treatment.
